NOW ON DISPLAY: “Fluid Evocations” by Amanda Millman

Every Third Friday, we welcome a new local artist to showcase their artwork in our East Gallery. For November, we welcome artist Amanda Millman and her showcase of beautiful abstract poured paintings, titled Fluid Evocations.

“This series of poured paintings was a complete indulgence in color, motion, and material. I allowed the media to have a strong voice in the work and I cooperated with it as I formed and molded it to my intentions. My work calls to mind certain imagery and emotive qualities through abstract mark making and color choices, invoking visual associations without painting representational forms. They are reminiscent of microscopic biomes, vast arial shots, or landscapes, but remain untethered to any specific depictions. The viewer’s ability to relate with and immerse themselves in the work is very important to me, and I use a vibrant palette to bring a sense of life to my pieces. The undulating forms allow everything to be gargantuan yet incredibly small.”

Fluid Evocations runs through Wednesday, December 13. All pieces are for sale! Come visit to view her work Monday-Saturday, 10:00a-5:00p and Sunday, 11:00a-4:00p.
