So You Want to Be a Glass Artist…

IMG_0067 (2)

You’ve seen the demos at Third Friday, maybe even made a paperweight or ornament in an experience class. If you walked away feeling exhilarated, inspired and ready to do more, our new class structure is perfectly suited for up-and-coming glass artists like you!

New 4-Week Structure

Extra long, multi-week classes can be intimidating! With our new four week structure, you will spend a few hours, one night a week for four weeks, learning the basics of working with hot glass. Each class is a different “step” on the path to working independently in our studios.

Glass 1 | Tuesdays | 8/25 – 9/15 | 5:30p – 8:30p | $300

You will be thoroughly introduced to the basics of glassblowing, beginning with learning to comfortably use the standard tools to manipulate the material and navigate the studio with hot glass. By the end of the class you will know the basic vessel form: a cylinder.

Glass 1.5 | Sundays | 8/23 – 9/13 | 12:30p – 3:30p | $300

Picks up where Glass 1 lets off! This class is the second step on the path to independence in the glassblowing studio. Students will move from the cylinder to the amphora, learning bit work, proper assisting, and improving on earlier learned techniques along the way.

jes squareGlass 2: Rental Prep | Sundays | 9/20 – 10/11 | 4:00p – 7:00p | $325

The name really does say it all. This class introduces you to studio equipment usage/awareness while continuing to hone technical skills. You will gain the necessary skills & knowledge to begin your move from student to independent renter.
