Glass Art Sampler

Sample three disciplines of glass art! Students make a paperweight in the Glassblowing Studio, a glass tile in the Kiln Studio, and several beads in the Flame Studio. This class is perfect for someone interested in learning about glassworking but unsure where to start.

New Class Structure: Glass 1 & 1.5
For a while, we at Third Degree have offered multi-week classes for you to get familiar with hot glass. Well, we’ve heard your feedback. So now we are excited to introduce our new class structure!
Glass 1 | Tuesdays | 8/25 – 9/15 | 5:30p – 8:30p | $300
Now a four-week class! You will be thoroughly introduced to the basics of glassblowing, beginning with learning to comfortably use the standard tools to manipulate the material and navigate the studio with hot glass. By the end of the class you will know the basic vessel form: a cylinder.
Glass 1.5 | Sundays | 8/23 – 9/13 | 12:30p – 3:30p | $300
Picks up where Glass 1 lets off! This class is the second step on the path to independence in the glassblowing studio. Students will move from the cylinder to the amphora, learning bit work, proper assisting, and improving on earlier learned techniques along the way.
