MARKETING ASSOCIATE

Third Degree Glass Factory (TDGF) seeks a professional communicator to assist with the daily operations of the Marketing department. This a great entry-level opportunity for gaining experience in a creative and dynamic environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Bachelor’s Degree in Media Communications, Advertising/Marketing, Public Relations or other related fields. An Associate’s degree in similar fields with commensurate experience is also accepted.
-A demonstrable knowledge of graphic design, including the Adobe Creative Suite.
-Preference is given to candidates with additional experience in digital photography and/or social media marketing.
-A self-starter who can work as an individual but also willing to collaborate with others to accomplish tasks.

JOB DUTIES:

-Graphic Design: Creating and updating digital and printed collateral items while adhering to TDGF’s brand.
-Capturing photo and video for social media use, primarily Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest, with potential to expand online presence.
-Photography: stills (primarily artwork or event setups), party & crowd pics, artists working in the studios.
-Editing and preparing photos to be used on the blog, website and press releases.
-Managing & organizing media files on Dropbox & Google Drive.
-Attend planning meetings, take notes and prepare for upcoming campaigns.
-Other duties as requested. As a small business, it’s sometimes all hands on deck when a need arises.

HOURS:

20 hours a week, plus occasional additional hours to capture footage at TDGF’s Third Friday open house, private events, or classes on evenings and weekends. Advance notice will be given.

COMPENSATION:

To be determined based on experience.

Founded in 2002, Third Degree Glass Factory (TDGF) is the only publicly accessible glass art studio, gallery and education center in the City of St. Louis. TDGF boasts three state-of-the-art studios for classes and studio rentals, as well as over 6000 square feet of private event space and an contemporary gallery space showcasing the work of over 40 independent glass artists who rent time in the studios. TDGF’s primary goal is to create an amazing experience with glass for every guest.

Experience Instructor

Third Degree Glass Factory (TDGF) is seeking a qualified Experience Instructor to provide Glass Art Experiences in Hot Glass, Flame and Kiln working during our open business hours and as a supplemental experience instructor for private events in order to achieve minimal staffing and scheduling challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
-Minimum four years’ glassmaking education and/or experience.
-Experience with power tools and the desire to learn equipment maintenance.
-Experience in customer service or hospitality preferred.
-A positive attitude, including a helpful and outgoing nature.
-Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
-Ability to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays.
-Ability to represent TDGF professionally.

JOB DUTIES:

-Provide glass making experiences to individuals or groups during regularly scheduled hours, plus some on-call hours
-Assist instructors during Path to Independence evening & weekend classes
-Daily studio upkeep
-Studio equipment maintenance and repairs
-Production work on an as-needed basis

HOURS:

-Minimum 20 hours per week
-Up to an additional 20 hours of on-call instruction

COMPENSATION:

-Scheduled hours: $10/hr + bonuses
-On-Call hours: $20/hr, no bonus
